While we were away in California , we were kept informed and updated on the latest and greatest at home by friends and family. At one point, we were warned by our neighbors that our yard was looking like it had seen better days. Our backyard especially, was eye-catching with our grass about as high as our knees. It was starting to seed, because it was getting so long. It was actually very pretty, as it waved in the gentle breeze. We almost swayed ourselves from mowing it short again, but knew it wouldn’t be practical, nor would it help the already unhealthy status of the grass in its condition. It was at this point, that we also determined that we would need a new lawn mower. There were also many weeds to pull, but after just a few short days, my husband got it whipped back into shape. The yard was mowed a few times while we were gone, but as it turns out our grass grows much faster than we anticipated. I’m just thankful that my husband could come home to his favorite hobby, as yard work is one of his passions in life.
The Big Surprise!
Our Apricot and Peach Trees
The Big Pile of Weeds
Our nephew Corban looks even smaller in the tall grass.
As a side note, I just have to send out big Congratulations to my sister-in-law, Addy for the delivery of their new baby girl early this morning. She, along with the rest of the family has chosen the name Skotlynd Sky, which is both unique and lovely. I have yet to see this bundle of joy, but I know she will be as beautiful as her other adoring children. They have been a blessing to all of us.
